“I can’t believe it.” You grumbled, puffing out your cheeks haughtily. “You can’t believe what?” Emil asked, glancing towards where you were sat with your legs pulled up to your chest. You blew out some air, making a couple of strands of hair fly upwards.
“My friends. I told them I liked liquorice and they wrinkled their faces in disgust.” You looked at the Icelander. “I mean, they haven’t even tried tasting it! They said the smell ‘put them off’.” Rolling your eyes angrily, you opened your mouth, Emil placing the tip of a liquorice stick in it.
Munching on it, you studied the sky. The rooftop of the school always had been one of your favourite spots to be, even more so when you could be with Emil. He never really said a lot when you were around other people, but he opened up when you got him alone.
“It just means there’s more for us.” Emil shrugged and patted your head, a stick of the black sweet hanging from his mouth as he chewed the end. You nodded, smiling as you poked his cheek. “And? Is Lukas still trying to make you say ‘big brother’?”
Emil sighed, dragging a hand through his hair. “Yes. Honestly, I can’t understand why he would want me to call him that!”
You giggled. “I do~ You’re totally cute when you say it.” He shot you an irritated glance, his cheeks heating up slightly. “I am not.”
“Totally and completely are!”
The banter between the two of you turned into a tussle, the both of you throwing weak punches at the other and ruffling hair. You continued eating the liquorice, that is until the bag Emil had bought with him was empty.
“Aaaw.” You said, pouting slightly. Shaking his head, Emil held up the last one. After holding your gaze for a moment, he bit off half despite your protests; you thought he was going to eat it all!
Then he handed you the other half, little circles around the rim from where he’d bitten. You kissed his cheek and happily consumed the half he gave you, though you slowed down mid-chew when you realised something.
It seemed Emil had come to that conclusion as well, as he had averted his eyes from you and was intently staring at his feet. “That.... was an indirect kiss.... wasn’t it?” You teased, seeing his ears turn an even brighter shade of pink.
Mustering all his courage, he looked up at you. “I can give you a direct kiss if you want...” he murmured softly, the colour of your face now matching his.
.....
How couldn’t you take that offer?
And yes, trying it is most important ^^
I suddenly have the feeling of buying and eating liquorice.

Maybe your style of writing is so addictive that...
I just want licorice. XD
