You smiled, playing with your fingers as you listened yet again to the reruns of Feliciano’s show. This particular one was about how he tried to learn how to dance, though his Japanese friend wasn’t that great of choice to be his dance-partner.
Humming along to Feli’s singing you wondered what it’d be like to dance. Well for that, you supposed, I’d have to be able to see. Or have someone I could trust no matter what.
“Bella!” You perked up and beamed as Feliciano’s footsteps entered the room. “How’ve you been bella?” His voice came closer to you when he hugged you tightly, smiling when you wrapped your arms around his neck.
“Better now that you’re here!” You chirped, grinning at him. He smiled back and chuckled sheepishly as he heard himself talk on the radio again. “You’re listening to this old stuff again?”
Nodding vigorously, you giggled. “Of course! Also this one is good. The dancing one?”
He snorted remembering it and the incident. “Si, in the end Antonio had to help me!” You recognised the name, he was a Spaniard that often featured in his stories. Feliciano heard you sigh, downcast at thought of not being able to dance.
He sat down on your bed and took your hands. “Bella? May I have this dance?” You turned your head, pulling your hands back slightly. “But I can’t.....”
“Don’t worry! I’ll make sure you won’t fall down, I promise. No I swear on my life I won’t drop you!” You snapped your head back up, a soft smile gracing your lips. “Okay.”
He helped you to your feet and took in your pyjama clad figure. You were about the same height, his shoes giving him a couple of extra inches. “Okay bella, we’ll do something simple.”
He placed his hand on your waist, bringing your hand to his shoulder. He stepped closer to you, closer than most people would, but he wanted to avoid losing his grip on you at all costs.
Your other hands stretched out, he began to sidestep and talked you through the moves.
“One step to the left. Yes, that’s right, now one backwards, careful! Now to the right and yes...”
After several almost falls and trips, you and Feliciano were happily dancing around the room. Of course it wasn’t that hard or impressive of a dance, but it still made you feel accomplished at the end.
Feli had hummed an song under his breath the whole time and as it came to a close, he held still, dipping you down.
You tightened your hold on him, tensing as if you were going to fall, but he merely bought you back up, your face bumping against something warm when you straightened up.
“Sorry!” you murmured, wondering what it was that you hit. “Don’t be bella.” His voice was low and you could feel his breath against your lips. Was he that close?! You felt something warm on your lips again and realised what it was.
When the kiss broke, you blushed stumbling backwards. He moved with you, setting you on the bed when the back of your knees buckled as they hit the edge.
“Say bella?” Feli asked, sitting down again on the mattress. “Yes?” You replied, searching for his hand. When you found it, he smiled sweetly and squeezed yours. “I-I’ve managed to get a few more shows. Good eh?”
“That’s brilliant Feliciano!” He chuckled, stroking your cheek. “The first show’s next week. Will you, will you come? Do you want to come?” He asked hopeful.
“How on earth can I say no to that! Of course!”
“Thank you bella.” You hugged him tightly. “It’s no problem at all!”
His arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer to him. “Then in case I don’t see you until then, can you give me some luck?” Smiling, you aimed for his cheeks, but he turned his head just as your lips were about to touch them.
His lips moved gently against yours and you pulled back, resting your forehead against his. “S-sorry I meant, I mean-“
“Ssssh.” He shushed you, one of his fingers on your lips. “It’s okay. In fact it’s better than okay!”
“That type of kiss is the luckiest!”
